Technical FAQ

Will rotating my PDF affect its quality?
No. UtilVox uses metadata-level coordinate rotation flags. This means the underlying vector grids, high-resolution graphics, and text blocks remain untouched. We only update the orientation angle flags inside the page dictionary structures.
Can I selectively rotate specific pages?
Yes. Simply click individual page cards to select them, or enter a page range (e.g. 1-3) and apply the rotation. Only the selected pages will be rotated.
Are my documents secure?
Absolutely. Previews are drawn client-side using native browser Canvas contexts. The original file is processed locally or safely securely compiled, with no persistent document caching.

Fixing Sideways and Upside-Down Pages

The rotation jobs that come up constantly

Rotation problems almost always trace back to how the document was captured:

SymptomUsual causeFix
A few landscape pages in a portrait reportWide tables or charts scanned sidewaysRotate only those pages 90°
Every page upside downStack fed into the scanner backwardsRotate all pages 180°
Alternating upside-down pagesDouble-sided scan with wrong duplex settingRotate even pages 180°

Viewer rotation vs. saved rotation

Pressing rotate in a PDF viewer only changes your view — close the file and it's sideways again for the next person, which is how “fixed” documents arrive broken at the recipient. This tool writes the rotation into the file itself, so the page stays upright everywhere: in email previews, on portals, and when printed. Rotation is lossless — text and images are untouched.

Rotate early in the workflow

Fix orientation before merging or signing — finding one sideways page in an already-merged 50-page tender file means redoing the bundle. The order that never backfires: rotate, then reorder pages, then merge, then compress once at the end.
