Reading Your BMI Honestly
The ranges — including the Asian-population ones
BMI is weight (kg) divided by height (m) squared. The WHO ranges are the headline numbers, but research on South Asian populations shows health risks rise at lower BMIs — many clinicians in Pakistan use the Asian cutoffs:
