Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is the table cell detection?
Extremely accurate. For standard ledger sheets, invoices, and databases, we evaluate exact horizontal X and vertical Y boundaries to group lines inside proper spreadsheet rows.
Can I edit extracted cells before downloading?
Yes. Cells inside our preview window are completely interactive. You can modify ledger amounts, fix alignment offsets, add rows, or delete extra lines before exporting.
Does the layout support multi-page mergers?
Yes. Using the 'Create Sheet per Page' toggle, you can compile each PDF page as a separate named sheet tab inside the compiled spreadsheet file.
Is my corporate data secure?
Absolutely. All extractions are securely processed inside your local browser context. Data stays locked in your active memory partition with complete privacy.

Getting Tables Out of PDFs Intact

What extracts cleanly — and what fights back

Table extraction quality tracks the table's structure in the source PDF:

Table typeResultExpect
Clean grid with bordersExcellentRows and columns land correctly
Borderless table with even spacingGoodSpot-check column boundaries
Merged cells, multi-row headersFairSome manual cell fixing
Bank statementsGoodVerify amounts column-by-column
Scanned table (photo of paper)Needs OCR firstWithout OCR there's nothing to extract

Why your numbers arrive as text

PDFs store the look of a number — “Rs. 1,24,500” is just characters, including the currency label and separators. Excel may import these as text, making SUM return zero. The two-minute fix: strip currency symbols with find-and-replace, then convert the column to numbers. Always verify one row's total against the original PDF before trusting calculations — silent column shifts are extraction's classic failure.

The right tool for each direction

Scanned documents go through OCR before extraction — otherwise the converter sees an image, not a table. If you need the document's prose rather than its tables, PDF to Word preserves flow better. And the reverse trip — a finished spreadsheet back to a fixed, shareable document — is Excel to PDF.
