How to Split a PDF into Files by Page or Range
Split a PDF into separate files, divide it by page ranges, or extract selected pages into one new document—and check the output order.
Splitting a PDF separates one document into smaller files or page groups. It is useful when a file must be uploaded in parts, shared by chapter, or divided into separate records. Decide whether you need several output files or one new PDF containing selected pages before you begin.
Split a PDF with page ranges
- Open the PDF Splitter and select the source document.
- Choose the option that matches your task: split the whole document, enter page ranges, or select specific pages.
- For ranges, use the page notation shown in the tool and check that every page number exists in the document.
- Run the split and download the resulting file or files.
- Open each output and verify its page count, order, and filename before sharing.
Split, extract, or reorder?
Use splitting when you want several parts or files. Use the PDF Page Extractor when you want a custom selection in one new document. Use the PDF Page Reorder tool when all pages stay in one file but need a different sequence.
Keep the original and check sensitive pages
Splitting creates outputs from the source; keep the original until you confirm the results. Before sending a part of a contract, statement, or application, check that it does not include unrelated pages or information.
